Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of gear will I need?

Ideally, you want a DSLR or a mirrorless camera that has a full ma mode. A secondary concern is interchangeable lenses. While there are creative things that can be done with automatic modes, you will have access to many more creative techniques with the manual controls.

Can I take a class when I don't have the prerequisite?

Yes, But... If you don't have the prior knowledge you may not be as successful in a more advanced class. For example, if you have never done any work with flash, filters, and depth of field, jumping into portraiture will be much more difficult for you. That being said, we're not a certification course, the prerequisites are established for the students not some arbitrary standard. If you think you've got the knowledge (look at all the course descriptions for the perquisites come and take the class!
